Willits wrestled back through the 165-pound consolation bracket with a 6-1 day, while Michaelson, a freshman went 5-1 at 174 pounds to win the consolation draw.
Mines will make its dual meet and home debut Nov. 18 against Fort Hays State. 125 POUNDS
picked up an opening-round win in the Amateur bracket, defeating Chadron State's Brandon Kile 5-4 before falling to Jacob Espana of New Mexico Highlands, 6-0, in the quarterfinals. Gracia then fell 3-1 in a consolation bracket bout with Sam Dandoval of Colorado Mesa.
Three Orediggers were in the 133 Amateur bracket, led by Noah Au-Yeung
, who advanced to the quarterfinals thanks to a 7-1 win over Ryan Bradshaw (Western Wyoming) and an 8-2 victory versus Colorado mesa's Michael McDanial. Au-Yeung was pinned in the quarters, and fell 9-2 in the consolation quarters by Northwest's Matthew Schmidt. Caleb Micho
won his opening-round match handily, scoring a 15-2 major decision over New Mexico Highlands' Adrian George before falling 9-4 to Great Falls' Isaac Wilson in the round of 16.
beat Riley Thomas of Adams State on riding time, 2-1, before being knocked out of the winners' bracket in a 9-4 decision to Mesa's Jace Abbott. He lost in the consolation quarters, 8-1, to Air Force's Joshua Giorgio.
dominated his opening match, leading 11-0 before pinning Trevor Bisgano of Sierra at the 4:33 mark; he then fell 4-3 on a late reversal to Tel Kelley of Colorado, and 12-1 to Jaydon Rogers of Western Wyoming in the consolation bracket. Joshua Redman

was Mines' lone Elite bracket entrant, and had a tough draw against a pair of D-I opponents. Gerken lost to Boise State's Travis Himmelman 9-2 in his opener and by fall to Branson Asthworth of Wyoming at the 6:14 mark.
In the amateur bracket, Ryan Carpenter
was defeated 17-6 by Ulisses Lopez of Western Wyoming to start, but won a consolation match 14-7 against Northwest Kansas' Corey Coombs before ending with a tough 3-2 loss to Jason Slaughter of Western State. 157 POUNDS
Freshman Robert Gambrell
advanced to the Round of 16 at 157, making his collegiate debut a memorable one with a fall over Montana State Northern's Brandon Gilham before falling to Wyoming's Dewey Krueger 13-6. Ethan Ruby
lost by technical fall, 20-4, to Nebraska Kearney's Seth Harrington, but battled back to win three consolation matches, first by fall (1:08) against Colby CC's Monquez Townsend before advancing on a DQ against Boise State's Merlin Bope-Miongolo and earning a 10-9 decision over Kellen Pelzel of New Mexico Highlands. Ruby was finally knocked out in the consolation quarters by fall against Chadron's Sean Glasgow. Austin Saunders
wrestled one of the craziest matches of the tournament but lost 20-17 to Chadron's Sean Glasgow in his first-round match, nearly coming back from an early deficit. Saunders won his first consolation match, pinning Colby's Dallin Dunn in 1:40, but fell 17-5 to Victor Haro of Northwest Kansas. 165 POUNDS
Willits took third place in the 165-pound bracket, battling back from an opening-round loss to wrestle back all the way through consolations in a 6-1 day. Willits lost 13-7 to Tony Silva-Bussey of Colorado Mesa in his opener, but put together back-to-back pins before being gifted a pair of forfeits to advance to the consolation semis. There, he decisioned Wyoming's Lucas Lovvorn 8-5 to make the third-place bout, where he broke a 6-6 tie against Chadron's Chance Helmick with a third-period escape and takedown to win 10-6 with riding time.
Michaelson had a superb collegiate debut, taking third place at 174 pounds thanks to a 5-1 day. Michaelson won his opener 7-6 thanks to a third-period takedown against Northwest's Tevin Nuttall, but was edged in the quarters by Montana State Northern's Zach Haviland, 9-8. In the consolations, he won 9-2 over Northwest Kansas' Brice Mason before pinning Highland's Jacob Hawthorne in 3:31 and majoring Northwest's William Kishpaugh 15-6 in the semis. The third-place match saw Michaelson shoot a dramatic late takedown with 24 seconds left, coming back from 4-3 down to win 5-4. Ben Krantz
earned a tough draw and fell to Wyoming's Willy Cogdill 6-2 in his opener, and lost by fall to Hawthorne in the consolation round of 16. 184 POUNDS
scored a first-period fall over Great Falls' Tyler Gamble before losing 17-6 to Lucas Staten of Northwest Kansas in the championship Round of 16. Bridenbach majored Alex Quick (Great Falls) 13-4 in the consolation round of 16, but fell 8-5 to Ladd Bunker of Western State.
In the Elite bracket, Paul Wilson
went 1-2 against some tough competition that included a consolation quarterfinal fall over Cody Marquez of Highlands. Wilson was pinned late in his opener by Wyoming's Brandon Tribble, and also in the consolation semis against Montana State Northern's Garrett DeMers. 285 POUNDS
wrestled back to the consolation quarterfinals to lead a trio of heavyweights. After dropping a tight 5-3 decision to Adams State's Amer Tipura, Cheatum worked back-to-back falls before decisioning DJ Castillo of Chadron 12-8. His run ended against Air Force's Kerry Powers, 11-3.
Freshman Tyler Mears
dropped a 5-2 decision to Sierra's Jake Minshew in his opener, but earned his first collegiate win with a 5-1 consolation decision against Kai Dill of Chadron. He added a 7-1 win over Wyoming's Danny Gordan before being knocked out by an 8-4 decision against Torrey Reinhart of Northwest Kansas. Nick DeBruyn
lost 5-4 in a tough opener against Zell Bieberle (Colby CC), and again was on the wrong end of a one-point match in a 4-3 loss to Wyoming's Gordon.
